The active ingredient in Boracare is an inorganic salt and once in place will not decompose or volatilize out of the wood. The product cannot be fogged. Wood treated with BoraCare will appear darker than normal for a few days until the chemical dries in. Boracare will not affect the paint or staining of the wood.
