This listing is for a handbuilt 3 string fretted cbg box guitar. Electric or acoustic. Starting with a "Java" box, the back of the box was sanded and painted orange, due to the fact that it had a lot of scratches on it (only on the back, was that way when I got the box), plus the orange went well with the wood colors on the rest of the box. A "Made In USA" wood plate is screwed on the back as well. The box was then cut for the 1 1/2 inch wide Oak neck, and a light stain was added to the neck, although I can't remember what color I used. A single coil pickup was added with a custom made wood cover, with a volume control. Volume knob is a simple black 'factory' type knob.  Vintage look brass box corners were added. Has a small movable bolt and nut (to adjust the intonation if needed) for the bridge.  I added one of my traditional vintage look wall mount bottle openers and modified it to use as a string holder/ tail piece. The sound holes are just small covers that were painted flat black.  Fretboard is Poplar, and has a dark stain on it, again, I can't remember the color I used.  Has chrome fret wire installed, with small screws as fret markers. The nut is Corian, and the tuners are vintage type open gear, with white knobs. Headstock was also custom cut from a different wood, and stained other colors, with 'ears' added to the sides, again in different colors.  The neck was clear coated afterwards to keep a gloss on it. 25 1/2 inch scale.  String gauges are .044, .034, and .026. It is tuned in "Open G" (G, B, G) but can be tuned to whatever tuning is desired. Also has gold strap holders added on. This can be played with a slide or fingerstyle. This is NOT a 'perfect' guitar, as most cbg's AREN'T! There are some small flaws here and there, but overall, very nice! This is an AS-IS listing, you get what is in the pics.
